Torque Conference 2026

The Science of making Torque from wind, commonly known as the Torque conference, is the leading scientific conference worldwide on wind energy.

The Torque conference covers cutting-edge developments in wind energy science in a wide range of disciplines, and peer-reviewed proceedings are published open source by the IOP and indexed in WoS, Scopus, etc.

Youwind will be represented at Torque by our Chief Engineer, Pieter Gebraad, our R&D Engineer & Full Stack Developer, Thomas Lokken, and our Researcher & PhD Candidate, Bernardo Castro Valerio. Both Thomas and Bernardo will present posters during the event.

In addition, on Thursday 4 June at 14:40, the paper “A Novel Metric to Compare Wind Farm Layouts and Identify Trends in the Layout Optimization Problem” will be presented by TU Delft PhD candidate Matteo Baricchio in the 2nd session on Wind Farm Performance. The work is co-authored by Pieter Gebraad and Thomas Lokken, with Pieter also acting as Matteo’s industrial PhD mentor.
