This week and next, members of our team will be attending and presenting at two key industry events: 

• Torque 2026: Currently, our engineering and R&D teams are participating in the conference, presenting research on wind farm layout optimization, and contributing to discussions on the latest advancements in wind energy science and technology. 

• WindEurope Technology Workshop: Our CTO, Edvald Edvaldsson, will be presenting Youwinds’ latest work on optimizing co-located battery energy storage systems (BESS) and wake steering strategies to maximize wind farm revenues, highlighting new approaches to enhancing project performance and value. 

A few weeks ago, Youwind and ESELEC co-hosted a two-day workshop in Madrid focusing on onshore wind project design drivers and hybridization possibilities with BESS. The event brought together professionals from across the wind energy sector to explore the full project development process, from wind resource assessment to layout optimization including project constraints holistically. 

Beyond the technical sessions, the workshop fostered valuable discussions among key market players, generating valuable insights and opportunities across the wind energy sector.

The agenda also covered detailed grid integration insights when facing a BESS hybridization and the latest innovations from leading turbine manufacturers, creating an engaging and collaborative learning environment for all participants.

Turkey has announced four candidate offshore wind development areas in the Aegean Sea, representing approximately 3 GW of potential capacity and marking a significant step forward in the country’s offshore wind ambitions. The sites feature water depths well suited to fixed-bottom foundation technologies, creating attractive opportunities for future project development. 

All four areas are already available within the Youwind platform, allowing developers to assess wind resource, optimize layouts, evaluate technical constraints, and analyse project economics from the earliest stages of development.
