AP Engineering chooses Youwind to Join Forces to Accelerate Wind Energy Development in Mexico and LATAM

Based in Oaxaca, Mexico, AP Engineering has established itself as a trusted player in the renewable energy sector, with deep expertise in R&D, turbine maintenance, control systems, and specialized software. Their work is grounded in international standards, ensuring high-quality, tailored solutions for clients across the energy landscape. 

Their strong connections with governmental bodies, scientific institutions, and key stakeholders, particularly in regions like the Yucatán Peninsula and the Isthmus, position them at the forefront of Mexico’s wind energy potential. 

The collaboration with Youwind began after AP Engineering attended one of our seminars. What started as a conversation quickly evolved into a shared realization: together, we could accelerate the development of wind energy in Mexico by combining local expertise with international experience. 

AP Engineering was actively seeking alliances with global partners to strengthen their capabilities in early-stage wind project development, both in onshore and offshore wind, as well as in BESS. Youwind, with a proven track record of supporting clients in securing over 25 offshore wind tenders, offered exactly that, an established platform and deep expertise across offshore, onshore, and emerging segments like Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). 

This collaboration is designed to deliver both immediate impact and long-term value. 

In the near term, AP Engineering will support lead generation and project development efforts in Mexico, leveraging their local knowledge and network. Together, we will focus on identifying viable opportunities across offshore and particularly onshore and BESS projects, where an existing regulatory framework makes faster implementation possible in today’s market. 

At the same time, we are laying the groundwork for the future of offshore wind in the region. 

A key pillar of this partnership is capacity building. AP Engineering brings extensive experience in delivering training programs for governments, universities, and private sector organizations. Together, we will co-develop specialized training initiatives focused on offshore wind, aimed at preparing stakeholders across Mexico and Latin America before the regulatory and financial frameworks fully mature. 

These programs will not only transfer knowledge but also help build the ecosystem needed to support large-scale offshore development.
