SAP for Renewables 2026: Youwind and SAP Begin a New Partnership to Accelerate Renewable Energy Development

At SAP for Renewables 2026, Youwind had the privilege of joining industry leaders to discuss how digital innovation is transforming renewable energy development. Representing Youwind, our CEO, Anna Rivera Jové, shared insights into how advanced analytics and digital technologies are helping developers make better decisions from the earliest stages of project planning.

During her presentation, Anna demonstrated how intelligent digital tools can support developers in identifying optimal project locations while improving the design of both wind farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS). By combining high-quality data with advanced modelling capabilities, these technologies enable more efficient project development, reduce uncertainty, and support better investment decisions throughout the entire development process.

Beyond the presentations, the event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with experts and innovators from across the renewable energy industry, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in accelerating the global energy transition.

The occasion also marked an important milestone for Youwind, as we officially begin an exciting new partnership with SAP. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our mission to provide renewable energy developers and consultancies with cutting-edge modelling solutions supported by robust data governance. Together, we aim to deliver even greater value through smarter, data-driven workflows that help accelerate the deployment of renewable energy projects worldwide.

We would like to thank SAP, especially Jordi Masip Montserrat, for the warm welcome and the opportunity to be part of such an inspiring event. We look forward to what this partnership will bring and are excited to share more updates in the near future.

Webinar: From site screening to operations - the first end to end digital workflow for wind projects

What happens when wind farm development and operational planning work seamlessly together? In our latest webinar, Youwind and Shoreline Wind showcased how integrated digital workflows can connect every stage of a project’s lifecycle. From early site screening and wind farm layout optimization to installation planning and operations.

The session demonstrated how reducing manual data transfers and connecting development with operational planning helps improve collaboration, streamline decision-making, and deliver more reliable project outcomes.

Insights: Smarter Wind Farm Design Starts with Smarter Constraints

The best wind resource doesn’t always make the best wind farm site. Today’s successful projects depend on balancing energy potential with environmental, social, and technical constraints from the very beginning.

At Youwind, we help developers integrate habitat, noise, visual impact, and stakeholder considerations into the design process, enabling smarter decisions, reducing project risk, and accelerating permitting.

Events & Fairs: WindEurope Technology Workshop & Torque 2026

The WindEurope Technology Workshop 2026 once again proved to be an invaluable opportunity to connect with wind energy professionals, exchange ideas, and explore the latest technical advancements shaping our industry. For the Youwind team, the event was all about listening to engineers, understanding the challenges they face, and discussing how our platform can help make wind project development more efficient.

One of the greatest strengths of the workshop is its highly technical focus. Beyond the networking opportunities, it provides a unique environment where engineers can openly discuss real-world challenges, share best practices, and explore innovative approaches to wind farm design and optimisation. These conversations are essential to how we continue developing the Youwind platform, ensuring our solutions address the evolving needs of the industry and help engineers work more efficiently.

The technical programme once again delivered an outstanding lineup of presentations. Among the highlights was Matteo Baricchio’s presentation on multi-strategy and multi-objective wind farm control, which sparked valuable discussions on the future of wind farm optimisation. Other key topics included wake modelling and wake steering, curtailment strategies, and the growing role of hybridisation in maximising project performance and flexibility.

Events like Torque are invaluable opportunities to share knowledge, gather feedback from the research community, and contribute to the innovations shaping the future of wind energy. This year, we’re proud that two of our Youwinders, Thomas Lokken and Bernardo Castro Valerio Castro, presented their latest research through technical posters on wind farm flow control and inter-array optimisation, helping drive the conversations that will influence the next generation of wind farm development.

Thomas Lokken presented his poster, “Tuning of a Holistic Synchronous Multi-Objective Framework for Wind Farm Flow Control,” exploring advanced optimisation strategies that balance multiple objectives to improve overall wind farm performance.

At the same time, Bernardo Castro Valerio Castro presented “Strategies for Wind Park Inter-Array Optimisation through Mixed Integer Linear Programming,” showcasing innovative methods for optimising wind park layouts through advanced mathematical modelling techniques.

Presenting this research at Torque offers a valuable opportunity to receive feedback from fellow researchers, exchange ideas with industry professionals, and contribute to the ongoing advancement of wind energy science. These conversations not only strengthen collaboration across the sector but also help ensure that the latest research findings continue to inform practical solutions for real-world wind farm development.

We are proud to see our team’s work recognised at such a prestigious event and look forward to the discussions, new perspectives, and collaborations that emerge throughout the conference.
